DAVID EMMS

Director of Coaching

Bio

David has over 20 years experience in both coaching and developing Tennis programmes in Clubs and Schools across London. He specialises in coaching club level players, making their time on court both engaging and fun and has also developed an extensive group coaching programme to make tennis accessible to all. He has also coached junior county squads for Middlesex Tennis. Together with his team, David continues to develop and evolve the coaching programme at Eastcote Lawn Tennis Club and is proud to have been a huge influence on the club being crowned LTA South East Club of the Year 2019.

GRAHAM SMITH

Coach

BIO

Graham is an LTA level 4 Accredited Plus coach and has been an instrumental part of our coaching team for over 15 years. He coaches juniors and adults of all standards from Mini Red to performance players. Graham prides himself on taking a detailed approach to coaching, using video analysis and other teaching aids. He aims to quickly develop a players technical and tactical understanding of their all round game. Graham still plays competitively, representing Eastcote in the top levels of the Middlesex Leagues.

ANTHONY STEVENSON

Coach

BIO

Anthony is a UKCC level 3 accredited plus coach. With over 12 years experience as a full time coach he has worked with players of all ages & standards. Anthony grew up and developed as a player at Eastcote and has now become a key figure in our coaching team. Anthony is a 6 time men’s singles champion at the club and a regular 1st team player for club competitions. Anthony has also successfully completed parts one & two of “the inner game” mind coaching and this comes across in much of his coaching. As well as key technical development he enjoys developing the mental side of the game with his competitive players.

TOM GREEN

Coach

BIO

Tom is an LTA Level 3 coach and has great experience in coaching juniors and adults. He was a junior player at Eastcote and developed through the club from player to coach and has been a key part of the team for over 5 years. Tom has won the Men’s singles and doubles titles multiple times. He enjoys a tactical, game based approach to coaching and you will hit lots of balls in his sessions..

Elizabeth Norman

Coach

BIO

Elizabeth is an LTA Level 3 Coach with a BSc in Sports Performance and Coaching and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Her qualifications and experience coaching a range of ages and abilities, allows for the tailoring of sessions to the individual’s needs.

Along with combining the technical and tactical aspects of tennis into each session, as a qualified Personal Trainer, Elizabeth also has experience with fitness and footwork, which can be incorporated into sessions to provide an enhanced skill set for those looking to compete and for general fitness.

She enjoys developing and working with all players but is particularly passionate about encouraging girls within sports and strives to be a relatable role model promoting confidence and ability.

Elizabeth regularly competes for Eastcote’s Ladies 1st team, having captained the Ladies 1st team at University.

Other than our coaching sessions we also offer the following:

RESTRINGING/RACKET MAINTENANCE

We offer a fast restringing service, so if you have a broken string or you feel you’re ready for a restring please speak to one of the coaches.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH

We can assist with any students volunteering or physical aspects of their DoE scheme for bronze, silver or gold.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Any student wanting to complete their work experience with us must be either a competent tennis player or have a strong interest in Tennis.

Students will develop face to face communication skills with adults and children, social media advertising, business email communication, increase their technical/tactical understanding and tennis knowledge, work with a big mix of different ages and abilities.
